My favorite quote of those you included is the one from Jerome. It's so true -- a mature home has gotten over all its troubles. When you move into a mature home, it's like it has been waiting for you all your life and welcomes you with a hug that says "I am a big ship and our journey will be safe and steady no matter the waters."

Having lived in lots of houses, I truly believe that they have souls. My mom used to live in a house the first room of which was built prior to the revolutionary war. That house was so thick with personality and ghosts it was like walking through soup (and not in a good way).

I have also, however, walked through houses (though I've never lived in one) that seem to hum, as if they've hit the best and clearest pitch on a tuning fork - so perfect that you feel it rather than hear it. This seems like that kind of house.
