Every month I send my Dad eight to twelve dozen cookies to share with the troops where he is deployed. This holiday season I look forward to sending more cookies and other types of baked goods to our troops over seas. I do not look forward to my first Christmas away from my dad. (P.S. <<>>.....oh, the calories..... All for a good cause, though, right?!?!? I look most forward to baking for a semi-annual tea/fundraiser in my area. It's the best excuse to try new recipes! (Little do they know, Guinea pigs, one and all!!!) I usual trial-bake a few of the recipes "just in case" and annoy too many people with extra "early" calories! Just sharing the happiness!!!!!

I have to work this Thanksgiving. But we will be celebrating it either after I get off work or on the weekend. What I'm looking forward to is cooking with my husband and teaching my children to cook. I look forward to seeing my extended family from far away; the holidays are the only time of year I get to see them.
