I tried to make this but accidentally set the oven too high : ( what a silly mistake. Next time I'll pay attention (sigh!) and I'm sure it will turn out lovely. It certainly looks awesome!

And why NOT make this for Thanksgiving. Fennel is in season, it tastes great... and it's as luxurious as these sorts of veggie dishes come.

i don't see why this isn't a thanksgiving dish. thanksgiving dishes are all about roasting in the oven and serve hot or room temp. this seems to fit. no way in hell i'm going to a grocery store between now and thanksgiving to get fennel to make this but if i had fennel i'd totally serve this
