I'm A Potato Ho and Proud Of It!

I'm not happy, so no one is happy. Matter of fact no one is speaking to each other. That's how bad it is... but I found this seriously talented designer through Good American Wife, her name is Sarah Casey and I heart her because this illustration reminds me of Nanny Goat.

For dinner last night we had, grilled steak, a simple spinach salad with tomatoes and blue cheese and Pioneer Woman's Hot Crash Potatoes. I was in such a bad mood yesterday, I'm really surprised I even cooked believe it or not. When I gave Rich a plate, he just looked at me quizzically. He might have sniffed at it behind my back and might have fed some to the dog just to make sure I didn't poison dinner. Everyone is still alive. Yeah, it was that bad.

About the hot crash potatoes... make these. Crispy on the outside, hot molten potato-y goodness on the inside. If your are a potato ho, (thanks, Cathy) this is a new trick. Get it? Trick... That's me the potato hooker with the heart of gold. Also, they are highly adaptable and like any good hooker I thought of many different ways to play with these. Blue cheese, mushrooms, cheese...

I'm curious, are you a potato ho?

*apps and drink selections will be posted this afternoon for you to vote on, you, puppet master, you.

That's hilarious, because today in my post I mentioned (in all seriousness) hoeing my potato patch, and I got the obligatory jokes about hoes (or is it hos?). And now this here. Are you channeling my thoughts?

I am no potato ho.

In fact... ummm I could go the rest of my life never again having mashed potatoes. And not because I don't make them well. Don't hate.

HOWEVER. I have to laugh and laugh because guess what I'm making for dinner tonight? Grilled steak and PW's Crash Hot Potatoes. Yep. Planned since yesterday.

Great minds and all. ;)

Hope the war zone has a white flag forthcoming...

Well we know I'm a potato ho! I've been wanting to make these too. They look great.

We should have a potato ho-down event...that would be fun.

I'm so, so, so, so, so, so a potato HO!

I saw this recipe a few days ago and wanted to drop everything and make them. I haven't yet, but I'm sure I soon will.

P.S. Maybe you just need a really great cry. I find that whenever everybody at our house is mad at each other, especially when Mr. Mom and I are fussing, an uncontrollable cry is so cathartic and makes everything right again.

I'm also a potato ho, and thankfully am raising 4 little potato ho's (actually, one is a boy what would he be a potato pimp?) My oldest daughter especially loves anything made from potatoes. This recipe looks amazing and I'm for sure going to try it.

As for the bad mood, I can so relate! The same oldest daughter isn't speaking to anyone in the family due to end of year school stress (teenagers!). Also the weather has been awful here and that makes everyone cranky. Some carbs will help I think!

Oh man. Thank you for bringing this recipe to my attention. ...And for introducing me to PioneerWoman!

This recipe is like the best of salt potatoes (a New York thing), baked potatoes, fried potatoes, potato chips and mashed potatoes combined.

I am so making these.

Sadly, I am also a huge potato ho. I'd have them with every meal, but Mr. Snooty won't let me.

I am so a potato ho. I made smashed potatoes a few months back, very similar to PW's and oh go good.

I SO want to make these. But it was 107F here today in Toronto, when you take the humidity into account. Yes, that not. We set a record. No way, No how am I turning the oven on, not even for the carnal pleasure these potatoes will surely provide. Maybe I could grill 'em............

I made those potatoes this week and my husband was about 3/4 of an hour late for dinner. But they were still really good. (And I don't normally eat potatoes!) I think I smushed them a little too much though.

I could live on potatoes, and these look good. I feel such relief knowing that my house isn't the only one where things get that bad. My husband sniffs his food at least a couple times a week. Cute post.

Well, I made them and they WERE really good. :) But the rest of the meal was just meh. I didn't put enough thought into it. So probably no post on that one.
