when going to the pool was the most exciting part of the day?

the last time your parents watched you from afar?

the last time you just jumped without thinking?

the last time you had mermaid hair?

when the only thing you had to do was smile for the camera?

or when you weren't self conscious in front of a camera?

the last time you just stared off into space?

when you were in awe because the moon was out and it was still light outside?

when water was magic?

the last time you looked at a sunset?

Oh, my God! What a gorgeous day. And beautiful kids!
Maybe I should get my ass out of the living room and my eyes off of the computer screen for a while! Thanks for the reminder.
i have to say one of the things that makes me happiest about being me is that i do still enjoy so many of those things. :)
Krysta,
This is poetry. I need to find an event somewhere that I can nominate your post. It's beautifully photographed and narrated. I feel like leaving work now to go out and start my Summer joy!
I love it. The kids seem so content. I remember the mermaid hair, I really do.
These photos are phenomenal. Thank you so much for posting them. They are gorgeous!
What a wonderful summer day full of wonderful memories!

I missed out.
i love the shot of the setting sun reflecting off of the water--gorgeous!
oh, and the last time i stared off into space was about two seconds ago. it's one of my favorite pastimes. :)
I watch the sun set almost every day, over the lake in front of our house. And yes, I know exactly how lucky I am.
Lovely
*sigh* Thank you
When I was little I used to become ecstatic if we were going to the pool. If I knew we were going to the pool the following day, I literally couldn't sleep that night, I was so excited. Now, the phrase "going to the pool" makes me wonder whether I'll be able to put on a bathing suit and MADOF.
Katie, I noticed you were absent. Aw. :(
This post is so lovely. Thank you for the memories, sweet gal.
I remember those days so well . . .
Our town pool opens tomorrow. My kid can barely contain themselves.

What great memories! Thanks so much for bringing back the little snippets of childhood!
I've found that having kids has freed me, again, to enjoy much of that anew. But I the pictures about some of the simple delights of idyllic childhoods.
