Happy Mother's Day!

If you are feeling a little hungover... here's some aspirin. You are going to need it because we are taking a road trip to the farmers market, but first...

...here are some fresh bagels, still warm. This was the best gift of Mother's Day.

Cherries...

...more cherries... this guy has the best cherries at the farmers market. I love him.

Tomatoes...

these make me want to cry...

I am going to be haunted by beets for the rest of my life...

...and still some more cherries.
fingerling potatoes...

Ahhhhh! Crazy sous chef in the car!
*I only took two of these pictures. Can you guess which ones? Will and Nancy took the rest.

I'm going to guess that you took the closeup of the bagels and the closeup of the cherries posted right below it.

Still a little tired from the party. But it was worth it! Did you buy some beets? I think you should make a beet souffle next. Happy Mother's Day.

i'm so jealous. of all of it! boo! i would give anything to have a market like that nearby. we had urban certified organic or at least farm direct farmer's markets in the city last year but they haven't started up again yet.

I'm with Jack. I'd kill to have a farmer's market nearby. The closest one is 40 miles. And those cherries made me want to weep.

Hope you had a lovely Mother's Day. Don't dream about the beets tonight!

I'd kill for a decent bagel--having moved from NYC to Seattle, the offerings aren't as awesome here! Too bad my sous chefs are two guinea pigs, and they don't give me many presents...well, other than pellets of poop.

*melissa... actually the top two are mine. The two youngest sous chefs Nancy and Will took the rest.

*jack and magpie... the farmers market will come soon.

*cakespy... i have never had a NY bagel. so i am hoping these ones are true blue. they are awfully good. check in tomorrow there is something here for you.

well see I got the bagel one right! my next guess would be the aspirin and bandaids, in reference to having a hangover. I should have known. :)

those bagels look pretty damn good. and I grew up on authentic (boiled) bagels. mmmmm. I miss those, and the fresh whipped deli cream cheese. *insert homer simpson noises*

I am so jealous of your farmer's market. Lots of bad vegetables around NJ this time of year!!
