Missing...

Long story, I won't bore you with all the details. So I'll summarize... Had 4 kids, gained a lot of weight, lost a lot of weight, never got wedding ring re-sized, said wedding ring always slips off ECM's finger, ECM never wears it while cooking or baking, puts wedding ring in little dish on kitchen window sill. Wedding ring now missing. Reward if found.

*one time at work, My friend and I had to climb into a big industrial sized trash compactor to find my wedding ring. It slipped off my finger at work while I was throwing away trash. There is nothing more fun than searching through the trash (cardboard, broken furniture, glass, and coffee grounds) at 5:00 am after lifting and stocking heavy furniture all night.

Asthmagirl is only half joking when she asks if you checked the muffins.

Did your husband take it to get it resized? Do you have a cat that climbs on your counter and knocked it over? Is it under the plate?

Oh dear. My Squazz lost his wedding ring, and we bought a new one for him. Then, a year later, he found it under his car mat. Now he wears two!

Talk about a PERFERT opportunity to get a NEW and IMPROVED wedding ring!!!! I must try this at my house! The mister bought me a gold band when we got married with 4 of the tiniest of diamond chips in it...he promised to get me the diamond of my dreams when we could afford it...instead we got a mortgage, kids, cars, insurance, etc., etc., but no diamond...so maybe if I lost MY ring...yeah, this just might work - thanks! I do hope you find yours though - obviously I'm just not that sentimental about mine! Nan

Have a surgeon friend who is on about her 10 wedding ring, and stopped wearing the engagement after the third disappeared.

She doesn't even think it is theft most of the time as she has found more than one wedding ring and the first engagement ring again.

I don't wear a wedding ring, I'm an electrical engineer who for decades worked on electical broadcast equipment. With some voltage in the 10,000 volt range jewlery is not a good idea.

The first time I got married, this caused the judge to ask my wife if she would obey, lines from a standard single ring ceremony I guess.

The second time I married we warned the priest to stay away from there.

Hey Guys! I have checked everywhere. Outside, inside, garbage cans, garbage disposal, muffins, my little salt bowl. I'm not a big jewelry wearer (?) matter of fact it's the only piece of jewelry I wear. Rich isn't too upset because I've done this before. I'm not sure if I really want another one.

Oh no! How awful, geez stick that arm down the disposal...and check the dishwasher silverware rack.

That sucks. I never wear my ring either, because I hate taking it on and off to wash my hands, which I have to do like 20 times a day because mini-farms are dirty, dirty places. So it lives in my jewelry box and only comes out to play on special occasions. I hope you find yours.

ooooh i feel for you. i have ring loss paranoia. the only ring i've owned in my entire life that i've not lost is the ring k gave me for our first christmas in 2002. this weekend i thought i'd lost it and i was up in the middle of the night in a panic about it.

Awww... I hate losing things like that.

Once, my hubby left his wedding ring out (the kids were little) and somehow our son got hold of it. We haven't seen it for 21 years now, lol. So, I finally went on eBay and bought him another gold band for $45.00.

Oh, my, my, my! I do hope you finally find it. I'm not much a jewelry wearer either, but I would cry big fat tears if I lost mine. I'm sending out good thoughts for your ring to make its way back to you.

that sucks.
i don't wear mine anymore....jewelry in the nicu is bad and after i broke my left ring finger i couldn't get my wedding set back on. still with all the sentiment attached to it i would be heartsick to lose it.
i hope that it turns up very soon for you.

oh krysta. this just happened to me at the end of january. and when steve found it again, six weeks later, at the beginning of march, while he was cleaning (yay!), I was thrilled. he actually told me when I got home that he had a surprise (there were other people there that day) and he took me back to our bedroom and showed me, away from our guests. awesomeness.

I hope like mad this happens for you. I kept telling people it didn't matter, and in some ways it doesn't. I think you know enough about me spiritually now to know I mean that. I was ready to just day "whatever" because it's a superficial object. but honestly, we were so poor when we got married, we bought these $40 rings... and it meant the world to me. I was so glad it was found.

and I do hope you find yours. much love and luck!

i've gone through a trash can before, although it was for something much less special than a wedding ring...it was for a retainer. :)

i hope your ring turns up soon!

That's horrible! It never feels good to lose something special like that, especially if you've done it again and again :(

I hope it comes back to you soon

Shit. SHIT! Any news?

Not being married, I don't have a lost-the-wedding-ring story, but I do wear a "shack-up ring" every day(long story, used to work in an environment where it was safer to appear married). About this time last year, I lost the ring in Chicago while eating very messy Bar-B-Q with my fingers. Six months later, while visiting my parents in TX, we ran into the same vendor that we'd gotten the original from at a fair! He very happily sold us another.

So what are your thoughts on getting another vs. not?

Krysta said...

*neen... it's really not to big of a deal if i get another one or not. however, i do find myself trying to fidget with my ring and it's not there.
